Gwinnett Daily Post — Newspapers-In-Education Corporate Sponsorship Program

The Newspapers-In-Education (NIE) program at the Gwinnett Daily Post provides newspapers to Gwinnett County Schools for use in the classroom as a supplemental teaching tool. The newspapers are part of the curriculum in all grade levels from elementary to high schools, and with virtually every class subject including math, reading, current events, economics, etc.

Our NIE program is extremely popular with Gwinnett County teachers, curriculum coordinators and administrators, so the available newspapers are in high demand. Since the school system operates with limited expense budgets, we developed a Corporate Sponsorship Program to help with the funding.

There are three levels of participation for businesses and/or individuals:

GOLD — $500

One classroom set of 30 newspapers will be delivered Tuesday through Friday each week of the school year. Sponsors will be recognized in a ''Thank You'' ad at least 12 times per year.

SILVER — $250

One classroom set of 30 newspapers will be delivered twice each week of the school year. Sponsors will be recognized in a ''Thank You'' ad at least eight times per year.

BRONZE — $150

One classroom set of 30 newspapers will be delivered once each week of the school year. Sponsors will be recognized in a ''Thank You'' ad at least four times per year. All of these contributions are 100% tax deductible.

Because of the demand for newspapers in the classrooms throughout Gwinnett County, we start delivering the newspapers at the beginning of the school year to as many schools as possible, even before funding has been secured. Therefore, we are in need of sponsors year-round.

As our partner in this valuable program, you have the option of selecting the school(s) and/or classroom(s) to receive these newspapers from you. We will provide them with flyers recognizing your business as their sponsor. If you do not have a preference, your donation will be used to provide the newspapers to an available school.

Teachers and students regularly share their enthusiasm for NIE and appreciation for the sponsors. Pat Pirkle, a teacher at Harmony Elementary School said recently, ''I have used these (newspapers) for the past several years. They are great! They meet so many of our objectives ... we hope someone will sponsor us.''
